Nic McCay Caps Great Week With No-Hitter

Carlisle its conference season on at Boone May 30. Carlisle's offense was locked from the start, earning four runs in the first inning and five in the second to jump out to a 9-1 lead after two innings. The contest would only last five innings as the Wildcats continued to score, ending the game with a 12-1 win.
Nate Mortimer led the offense with two hits and two RBI to go along with two stolen bases. Dylan Berg also stole three bases after a 1-3 performance at the plate. The Wildcat offense stole nine bases on the evening.  Owen Durham earned his second victory of the season, allowing just four hits to go along with this eight strikeouts.
The Carlisle baseball team notched its second conference win on Friday night, defeating Ballard 6-0 on a dominant, no-hit performance by pitcher Nic McCay. McCay was able to command the strike zone all night, striking out 12 and only allowing three walks on 101 pitches. McCay's no-hitter is the second no-hitter for the Wildcats on the season.  McCay also had a large role in igniting the Wildcat offense with a double and an RBI on the evening. Owen Durham, Max Goodhue and Ben Rowray all contributed to the Carlisle scoring by collecting two hits each in the shutout. Mortimer led the team with two RBIs. 
The Wildcats will have three RRC games this week, starting with a trip to Perry on June 5.
