Wildcats Get Wins Over Van Meter and Centerville
The Carlisle Baseball team traveled to Van Meter on Wednesday to play the #6 ranked Bulldogs in Class 2A. In the first inning, the Wildcats were able to draw three walks before senior Ben Rowray cracked a 3 RBI triple. Rowray would later score on a sacrifice by senior Max Goodhue. Goodhue led the way for the Wildcats offensively, going 3 for 3 with two doubles, three runs batted in and a stolen base. Senior Nate Mortimer also had a big night at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a home run.  Senior Devin Egenberger picked up his second win on the season, pitching 6 1/3 innings in relief. Egenberger would only allow six base runners as the Wildcats went on to win the contest 10-3.

On Thursday night, the Wildcats were on the road again, this time to Centerville to take on the Class 2A No. 8 Big Reds. Sophomore Nile Foss was dominant on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout, while striking out nine batters. Foss earned his second win on the season.  Offensively, the Wildcats were led by Mortimer, junior Isaiah Henrichs and Rowray, who each picked up two hits on the night. Senior Dylan Berg walked twice and was hit by a pitch, which led to three stolen bases and three runs scored.

With the 10-0 win over Centerville, the Wildcats move to 4-3 on the season. Conference play begins Friday night as the Cats travel to Ballard.
