The Carlisle baseball team defeated the Ballard Bombers 3-1 in RRC action June 1. Junior Darek Tingle led the way on the mound for the Wildcats, pitching a complete game without allowing an earned run. The Wildcats were able to play small ball early, executing bunts to score the first run of the game. Senior Nate Mortimer launched a home run to dead center to give Carlisle the advantage. Mortimer's home run marked his 100th career RBI.
The Wildcats defeated Perry June 4, 7-3. The Cats used a combination of senior Nic McCay and juniors Seth Curry, Lucas Olson and Isaiah Henrichs on the mound. Senior Owen Durham and McCay each hit home runs to lead the offensive charge, giving the Wildcats an advantage in the middle innings. Junior Troy Schnathorst also collected two hits on the night.
The Wildcats were back home on June 5, defeating West Marshall, 16-0. Durham pitched three innings, striking out five and earning the win, while also knocking in three runs for the Cats at the plate. Senior Max Goodhue and Mortimer each added two hits in the team's fifth consecutive win. Carlisle's record improves to 7-3 (2-0 RRC) and looks to carry this momentum into Thursday's conference match at Bondurant.
