Carlisle traveled to Winterset June 8 to take on the Huskies in a crucial Raccoon River Conference game. This contest featured two of the conferences top pitchers, Nic McCay (Carlisle) and Casey Young (Winterset).

McCay struggled with a few batters in the early innings, allowing a handful of walks, but found his rhythm mid-game. In the fifth inning, McCay's no-hit bid was saved by a diving catch in left field from junior Darek Tingle. As the game continued, McCay seemed to be throwing harder and harder. McCay would strike out 15 batters on the night, including the last nine batters he faced. This no-hitter was McCay's second of his career.

Offensively, the Wildcats got their first run in the fourth inning after a few defensive errors by Winterset. Going into the seventh frame, the Wildcats led 1-0, but were able to add six runs late. Dylan Berg, Max Goodhue, Nate Mortimer, Ben Rowray, Isaiah Henrichs and Nic McCay all contributed with big hits late in the game.
