The Carlisle varsity boys were able to pick up a big conference win Dec. 1 over a tough Bondurant-Farrar team. The Cats jumped out to quick 17-8 lead after the first quarter but struggled offensively in the second quarter. Heading into halftime the Cats trailed 29-21. Coming out of half, the Wildcats turned several defensive stops into transition buckets and outscored the Jays 18-5 in the third frame. The Cats were able to hold on down the stretch and outscored the Jays by four in the final quarter for a 64-55 victory. Leading the way for Carlisle was junior Collin Lister with 20 points—all coming in the second half. Senior point guard Tommy Donovan also chipped in 19 points to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists. Coach Poldberg was pleased with his team's performance and commented, "Aside from the second quarter, I thought we played pretty well. This was a complete team win and all eight kids who played contributed greatly." The Cats are now 1-0 in the Raccoon River Conference and 1-1 overall. Carlisle will travel to Perry for another conference game Friday, December 8.
