The Carlisle Wildcats defeated the Ballard Bombers 64-50 on Tuesday night in Huxley. The win improved the Cats' record to 4-0 in the Raccoon River Conference. Coach Poldberg was especially pleased with the Wildcat defense as Ballard was held 12 points under their offensive average. Offensively, Carlisle spread the wealth as four scorers were in double figures. Seniors Tommy Donovan scored 19, Collin Lister 16, Max Goodhue 13, and Cole Henderson chipped in 10.
The Cats will travel to Indianola on Thursday for a non-conference match-up against their Warren County rivals. Coach Poldberg commented on Indianola, "This will be a tough game for us and we are looking to close out the first half of the season with a win. Personally, I am looking forward to coaching against my friend and former teammate, Brett Watson." Poldberg and Watson played high school together at Elk Horn-Kimballton and were members of the 2000 Dane State Tournament team.
All Carlisle boys teams will play tomorrow (Dec. 21) in "Mega Night" action vs. Indianola.
