Wildcats Win Thriller at Carroll

Junior Collin Lister's half-court shot at the buzzer allowed the Carlisle Wildcats to escape Carroll with a 74-72 Raccoon River Conference win over the Tigers. The Cats led by one when Carroll sophomore Chase Gladden was fouled with 3.6 seconds remaining in the contest. Gladden stepped to the line and knocked down both attempts, putting the Tigers up one. With no timeouts remaining, senior Max Goodhue grabbed the ball out of the net and in-bounded to Lister. Lister took three dribbles to the center circle and heaved the last-second shot, which rolled around and dropped in.

Leading the way for the Wildcats was Lister with 29 points, including four three-pointers. Senior Tommy Donovan scored 15, while senior Cole Henderson and Goodhue both chipped in 12.

Coach Poldberg commented, "Our team battled and battled and found a way to win it at the end. So proud of the poise and execution our kids showed down the stretch."

The Wildcats improved their record to 6-3 overall (6-1 in the Raccoon River Conference). Carlisle travels to Norwalk on Tuesday for a non-conference match-up and hosts Perry Friday.
