Carlisle slipped to 3-3 on the season with a pair of road losses despite getting 66 combined points from senior Collin Lister in the games. The Wildcats are 2-2 in the Raccoon River Conference following the losses at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Boone.

Lister scored 43, but the Wildcats could not bring home the win in a 66-60 loss at Adel-DeSoto-Minburn on Dec. 11. The Wildcats trailed 31-28 at the half and 49-46 after three quarters. Lister's 43 points, which included hitting six 3-point shots, were the most scored in a single game by a Class 3A player this season and the fourth best over all classes as of Dec. 11. The 43-point effort is also the best single-game performance by a Wildcat boy in more than 12 years and second best all time falling just short of Curt Williams' school record 46.

"Collin did a great job of attacking his defender," head coach Seth Poldberg said. "He was able to get to the basket, get his mid-range game going, and hit six threes. His teammates also did a good job of screening him open and Collin really hunted his shot. Collin's big night is a reflection of his hard work and dedication to improving his craft. Unfortunately, ADM made a few more winning plays down the stretch to get the win. Foul trouble really hampered us throughout the game as well."

Senior Trenton Beck added nine points, junior Hayden Amos six and junior Nate Norton two. Senior Preston Thompson led the team with four assists with Lister and junior Jace Vollstedt each added three, Beck two and Norton and Amos one each.

Amos had a team-high nine rebounds with senior Nolan Brunsen getting six, Lister and Thompson four each, Beck three and sophomore Karson Dunn, Norton and Vollstedt one each. Amos also had four steals with Beck, Dunn and Vollstedt getting one each. Brunsen blocked three shots with Lister stopping one.

A one-point deficit became eight in the fourth quarter of a 60-52 Carlisle loss at Boone on Dec. 14. Boone jumped out to an 18-8 first-quarter lead but Carlisle sliced the deficit to 26-25 by halftime. The teams battled through a 14-14 third quarter before Boone pulled away with a 20-13 run in the fourth quarter. Lister led Carlisle with 23 points, including hitting three 3-pointers. Brunsen had nine, Beck and Amos each added seven points and Thompson and Norton each chipped in three. Lister and Beck each had five assists with Thompson adding four, Norton two and Vollstedt one.

Beck had a team-high 10 rebounds with Amos grabbing eight, Brunsen seven, Lister five and Thompson and Norton four each. Norton and Amos each had three steals with Lister getting two and Vollstedt one. Lister, Norton and Brunsen also each blocked a shot.

Cats continue RRC play this week at Ballard Dec. 18 and host Warren county foe Indianola Dec. 20.
