The Carlisle boys posted back-to-back home wins in the Raccoon River Conference last week, beating Winterset and Ballard. Carlisle is 5-6 in the conference and 6-10 overall. In the Winterset win Feb. 1, Carlisle led 35-33 at the half, but found themselves trailing 54-46 after three quarters. The Wildcats rallied in the final period outscoring the Huskies 19-10 to take the 65-64 win.
Senior Collin Lister led Carlisle with 19 points. Junior Nate Norton sank five 3-point shots on the way to 18 points. Senior Trenton Beck added 11, junior Hayden Amos eight, senior Nolan Brunsen four, senior Preston Thompson three and junior Jace Vollstedt two. Lister had a team-high six assists with Thompson and Beck getting five each, Norton three and Amos two. Amos added a team-high 11 rebounds with Beck getting seven, Lister, Norton and Brunsen four each and Vollstedt three. Norton had three steals with Lister, Beck and Vollstedt getting one each. Brunsen also blocked a shot.
Carlisle rode a third-quarter rally to an 85-77 home win over Ballard on Jan. 29, a game that had been rescheduled due to weather. The Wildcats trailed 45-36 at the half, but went on a 32-12 third-quarter run to take a 68-57 lead into the fourth quarter. Carlisle held on as Ballard tried to rally in the final period. Beck sank eight 3-pointers on the way to scoring 32. Beck's eight 3-pointers made ties him with seven others for the most in a Class 3A game this season. Lister added 19, Norton 13, Thompson 12, Amos seven and Vollstedt two. Lister had eight assists with Norton dishing out four, Thompson and Beck three each, Amos and Brunsen two each and Vollstedt one.
Beck also had a team-high nine rebounds with Norton getting seven, Lister and Amos five each, Vollstedt and Brunsen four each and Thompson one. Lister had three steals and Norton had one. Amos blocked two shots and Beck and Vollstedt one each.
The Wildcats welcome ADM to The Barn Feb. 5 and will honor their five seniors before the game.
