The Carlisle High School boys soccer team played four games in five days. The Wildcats posted their first win of the young season and placed second in the Chariton Soccer Tournament on April 15.
On April 10, the boys traveled to Bondurant for a conference showdown against Bondurant Farrar and fell to the Bluejays 0-0. Senior Alex Benhart led the way with three shots on goal and sophomore Aaron Dykstra had none saves in goal for the Wildcats.
On April 13, the boys traveled to Winterset to take on the No. 15-ranked team in the state and lost 9-1, but gave up no goals in the second half to show marked improvement throughout the whole team. Sophomore Carson True scored the team's lone goal for his first varsity goal of his high school career.
This past weekend, the team competed in the Chariton Tournament, facing Nodaway Valley in the opener. The Wildcats recorded their first win of the season, 3-0. Senior Ryan Crall led the way with two goals, his first of his high school career and junior Andrew Khambanoun also had one goal. Junior Kobi Sadler chipped in two assists, and sophomore Logan Niehaus and Nate Rowray each had one assist. Dykstra kept a clean sheet with five saves. The Wildcats lost the second game, 3-0, to CMB. Junior Kobi Sadler led the way with five shots on goal. Dykstra had six saves in the contest.
