
The No. 12 ranked Carlisle boys cross country team ran at the Ballard Invitational on Sept. 12. The varsity team placed third of 11 teams, scoring 84 points. No. 2 ranked DC-G won the meet with 27 points and No. 8 ranked Pella finished second with 57 points.
The Wildcats were led by senior JJ Orput's fourth-place finish. Also medaling were junior Kobi Sadler (13th) and sophomore Zachary Willcox (16th). Rounding out the varsity runners were sophomore Carter Logue (24th), freshman Kolby Fritz (27th), senior Josh Felger (30th) and sophpmore Nate Rowray (36th). Usual top-three Carlisle finisher Collin Lister was held out of competition with a leg injury.
The JV boys placed fifth of 20 teams in their race. The squad was led by sophomore Jon Flaws, who came in 12th with a time of 19:16. Also scoring for the Wildcats were sophomore Truman Kruse (23rd), freshman Kyle Miller (30th), freshman Tristen Kessler (52nd) and junior Noah Imhoff (64th).
The Wildcats have two meets next week, Sept. 19th at ADM and Sept. 22 at Indianola.
