The Carlisle boys XC team ran at the SE Polk Invite on September 29. The race was held on the Ram's brand new XC-only course, just south of their high school. The Wildcats more than held their own as the only 3A team at the meet. The varsity boys finished in second out of seven teams with 71 points. 4A No. 15-ranked Ankeny won the meet with 32 points.
Senior J.J. Orput was the lead runner for Carlisle, coming in second place with a time of 16:53. Also earning medals (Top 25) for the Wildcats were sophomores Collin Lister (13th), Zachary Willcox (17th), Carter Logue (19th), freshman Kolby Fritz (20th) and sophomore Nate Rowray (23rd). Rounding out the varsity crew was sophomore Jon Flaws with a 30th-place finish.
The JV Boys ran well together to finish third, beating SE Polk, DM Lincoln, Mason City and DM East. They were led by junior Kobi Sadler (9th), who was racing for the first time in two weeks after battling through an injury. Sadler looks to rejoin the varsity squad next week at the Norwalk meet. He was followedby Josh Felger (17th), Truman Kruse (18th), Tristen Kessler (25th), Noah Imhoff (28th), Kyle Miller (30th) and Ian Wilkins (35th).
