The Wildcats had a dominating night in Winterset for the Raccoon River Conference Championships Oct. 9. The varsity team successfully defended its conference championship with 33 points, 21 points better than second-place Bondurant- Farrar. Third place went to ADM with 6 60 points. The Wildcats had six runners earn all-conference (top 17), led by Kolby Fritz's third-place individual finish. Right on the heels of Kolby was Carter Logue in fourth, Collin Lister in sixth, Kobi Sadler in eighth, Nate Rowary in 12th, and Kyle Miller in 15th. Tristen Kessler rounded out the championship team with a 19th place finish.
The JV team secured its third straight JV RRC title, recording a perfect score on the afternoon. They were led by overall champion Jon Flaws. Jon was followed by Brandon Kesner in second, Hunter Snyder in thirrd, Cole Osterhaus in fourth, and Ethan Schlichte in fifth. Also in the top 7 for the JV squad were Kaden Sadler (9th) and Nate Norton (14th). Second-place Ballard had 56 points and third-place Bondurant-Farrar came in with 97.
The following 20 runners ran their all-time best race in the conference meet: Collin Lister, Nate Rowray, Kyle Miller, Jon Flaws, Brandon Kesner, Cole Osterhaus, Hunter Snyder, Ethan Schlichte, Nate Norton, Kaden Sadler, Ryan Mohwinkle, Dalton Hinders, Trenton Beck, Keaton Kruse, Quincy Griffin, Ryan Mangin, Carter Sorensen, Tyler Crall, Rilee Johnson, and Matthias Beattie.
Carter Logue, Kobi Sadler, Noah Imhoff, and Colin Short ran their fastest race of the season.
