The Carlisle boys won the SE Polk Invitational Sept. 28. The No. 3 ranked Wildcats took down the host school, (No. 15 in 4A) SE Polk 26 to 39. No. 13-ranked Grinnell came in third with 78 points. The win was the first ever at SE Polk for the Wildcats, and the fourth team win of the season. All seven varsity runners medaled, led by Kolby Fritz's second-place finish. Joining Kolby in the top ten were Carter Logue (3rd), Tristen Kessler (5th), Nate Rowray (7th), and Brandon Kesner (9th). Also in the top 25 were Jon Flaws (18th) and Hunter Snyder (25th).
The JV was a little depleted with some missing runners due to injuries and illness amongst the entire squad. They still ran great and finished fifth out of 10 teams. The JV team was led by Ethan Schlichte's 11th place finish. Also medaling was Kaden Sadler with his 12th place finish. Also in the JV top seven were Nate Norton (23rd), Mason Ramsey (30th), Brayden Kessler (46th), Connor Johnson (48th), and Kaden Baxter (50th). Ryan Mohwinkle was just a fraction of a second behind Kaden, but came in 110th because we can only score seven runners.
