The No. 1 ranked Carlisle boys cross country team won the 13-team Grinnell Invitational on Sept. 10. The Cats scored 30 points to No. 7 Pella's 72 and 2A No. 9 Williamsburg's 98. Kolby Fritz was the meet's overall champion with a time of 17:06. All seven varsity runners were in the top 20. Following Fritz's first-place finish were Kyle Miller in third, Brandon Kesner in fifth, Tristen Kessler in seventh, Ethan Schlichte in 14th, Kaden Sadler in 15th, and Hunter Snyder in 15th.
The JV Cats brought home a title of their own from Grinnell with 21 points. Pella was second with 42 and Knoxville was third with 104. The squad was led by Brayden Kessler's second-place finish. Also medaling (Top 10) for the team were Logan Howard in third, Nate Norton in fourth, Keith Christenson in fifth, Mason Ramsey in seventh, and Quinten Kessler in 9th.
The teams race again next Monday, Sept 16th at the Ballard Invitational.
