The No. 2 ranked Wildcats had a historic night at the RRC cross country meet in Winterset. Both the varsity and the JV teams brought home their fourth consecutive conference titles. The varsity boys captured the crown with a low score of 27. Bondurant-Farrar was second with 57 and Winterset was third with 78.
The Cats had six all-conference performers, led by Kolby Fritz, who was the conference runner-up, Kyle Miller placed third and Brandon Kesner finsihed fourth. Not far behind were Ethan Schlichte in eighth, Nate Norton in tenth and Kaden Sadler in 17th. Also with a top-20 finish was Tristen Kessler. Fritz ran his way to an elite status of four-time all-conference performer while Kyle Mille his third all-conference honors!
The JV team perfect scored their way to the JV title with 15 points. Second-place Bondurant-Farrar had 50, while third place ADM came in with 72. The JV team was led by individual champion Hunter Snyder. Right behind him were Keith Christenson in second, Logan Howard in third, Mason Ramsey in fourth, Quinten Kessler in fifth, and Raymond Birech in seventh. Also grabbing top-20 spots in the JV race were Quincy Griffin in 11th, Brayden Kessler in 12th, Lincoln Eighmy in 16th, and Tyler Crall in 17th.
17 Runners ran their season's best times on the course at Lakeview Country Club in Winterset. Tyler Crall joins the Sub-20 Club in his final HS XC race. Ethan Schlichte joined the Sub-18 Club tonight. Keenan Richards, James Gano and Wyatt Sobieszkoda all joined the Sub-21 Club. These five runners have the distinction of improving their time each and every meet throughout the entire season: Raymond Birech, Keenan Richards, Adrian Carmenate, Wyatt Sobieszkoda and Carter Glawe.
Head Coach Marty Mitchell was also selected Raccoon River Conference Coach of the Year.
