Carlisle advanced two wrestlers to state from the 3A district in Waukee. The Wildcats had one champion, one runner-up, four third-, two fourth- and two fifth-place finishers to capture fourth place as a team. Advancing to the state wrestling tournament were sophomore Carter Logue and senior Travis Johnston.
Logue qualified for state at 113 after finishing second at districts. Logue dropped his first match to Jakey Pernrith of Cedar Falls via pin fall in the second period. He bounced back in the consolation bracket by taking a 2-0 decision over Gaven Hiler of Marion, but eventually fell to Ryan Steffensmeier from Ft. Madison. Johnston drew Kade Kolarik from Indianola to start and dropped a tough 8-5 decision. In the consolation round, he lost to Ottumwa's Joey Mitchell 2-1 to end his career. Congrats to both Wildcats on an amazing season.
