Carlisle hosted and won a Class 2A sectional tournament Feb. 2, sending 10 wrestlers on to district competition. Advancing wrestlers will compete at the Class 2A district tournament at Knoxville on Feb. 9. Carlisle won the sectional with 262 points with PCM Monroe at 250.5 and Bondurant-Farrar at 191. For winning the team title, the Wildcats also advance to regional team duals at Atlantic on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.
Senior Carter Logue moved on to districts with a first-place finish at 126. Logue pinned PCM's Brian Nicholson in the title match. Junior Peter Comer at 132 finished first with an 11-2 major decision over Bondurant-Farrar's Aiden Lewis. Senior Troy Schnathorst took first at 138 with a 10-2 major decision over Clarke's Riley Domina, while senior Bryce Murray took the 152 title with a 6-3 decision over PCM's Cody Wallace. Sophomore Gabe Hemsted took first at 195 with a pin of Chariton's Reid Walters and senior Tommy Jones took the 220-pound title with a 3-1 decision over PCM's Seth Greiner. Freshman Will Emmons took second at 106 pounds to advance to the district tournament. Emmons pinned Clarke's Ethan Domina in the second-place match to earn his spot. Senior Darek Tingle at 145 finished second by rule after losing a 2-1 sudden victory to PCM's Colby Tool in the title match. Senior Ethan Reed finished second at 182 after losing a technical fall 20-3 to PCM's Lucas Roland in the title match and senior Lucas Henkelman was pinned by PCM's Jace Smith in the 285-pound title match and finished second by rule. Sophomore Nicholas Pogue finished third at 113 after pinning Max Maiden of Clarke in the third-place match. Senior Wyatt Kruse took third at 120 with a pin of Clarke's Dakota Grow, while senior Lucas Olson won a 9-0 major decision over Knoxville's Cael Hollinrake to take third at 160.
