Carlisle sent three seniors to the Class 2A state wrestling tournament, with all three reaching the second round of consolations. The state tournament was held Feb. 14-16 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Carter Logue opened with a pin of Alec Staudt of Charles City in the 126-pound bracket. In the quarterfinal round, Winterset's Bryce Hatten won a 12-3 major decision over Logue. In the second round of consolation wrestling, Logue was pinned by Centerville's Kayden Kauzlarich. Logue finished the season with a 38-10 record.
Troy Schnathorst at 138 pounds lost a 16-3 major decision to Perry's Kaleb Olejniczak in the opening round. Schnathorst bounced back with a 9-3 decision over Osage's Brody Roll in the first round of consolations. Schnathorst's tournament ended with a pin by Vinton-Shellsburg's Luke Radeke. Schnathorst was 36-11 on the season.
Ethan Reed opened his Class 2A 182-pound tournament with a 3-2 decision over West Delaware's Jack Neuhaus. In the quarterfinals Reed was pinned by NH/TV's Evan Rosonke. Reed's tournament ended with a pin by PCM Monroe's Lucas Roland in the second round of consolations. Reed ended with a 15-7 season record.
