Carlisle Wrestlers Earn Valuable Experience First Half of Season

The Wildcat grapplers have battled some tough and experienced competition to begin the year. With many new faces to the lineup, the first half of the season has been about gaining experience in match situations.The varsity traveled to Independence the first weekend, where each wrestler battled in at least six different bouts. Two Wildcats were able to compete in the gold brackets, while three others wrestled their way to the silver brackets during the weekend. Senior Peter Comer was able to reach a personal milestone at North Polk before the break by notching his 100th career win. Comer is a varsity captain and has been a four-year starter for the Wildcats. He, along with teammates Bryce Murray and Gabe Hemsted, were able to take the top of the podium at Carlisle's last tournament before break, each placing first at the North Polk Comet Tournament. The Wildcats are looking forward to the second half of the season, gaining valuable experience along the way.
