4x400 Breaks 23-Year Old School Record

4x400 Breaks 23-Year Old School Record

The girls track and field team sent a 4x400-meter relay team to the Van Meter Co-Ed Invitational to attempt a Drake Relays qualifying mark.  The squad ran a time that may indeed qualify them, but in trying to do so, broke a 23-year old school record, as well.  The team of Madi Hoekstra, Taylor DuBois, Jocelyn Haack and Aricka Lambson ran an eye-popping 4:07.72 to win the race by 12 seconds.  The previous record was 4:08.39 set in 1994 by Avitt, Pickering, Moehring and Fleishman.  The girls each ran personal-best splits in the race:

  • Madi Hoekstra - 62.00
  • Taylor DuBois - 61.64
  • Jocelyn Haack - 61.18
  • Aricka Lambson - 62.63

Congrats to them on their historic accomplishment!
