Girls Finish 14th as a Team at State Championships

The Carlisle girls track and field team finished tied for 14th as a team at the state championship meet held at Drake Stadium May 17-19.  The Wildcats secured four individual medals, while competing in a total of 11 events.  The following performances earned medals for finishing among the top eight in their events:

  • Aricka Lambson closed out her career as a Wildcat with a fantastic state meet weekend.  She broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles while breaking 15 seconds for the first time with a time of 14.97 seconds.  She would go on to finish 3rd in the finals.  She would add another 3rd place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 65.99 seconds, good for #2 in Carlisle history.

  • Brooke Kruse had a season's best throw of nearly 39 feet to finish 5th in the shot put.  Kruse ends her career as the school record holder in the event and is the school's only four-time individual qualifier in the throws.

  • Megan Sievers survived a race of attrition in the heat while competing in the 3000 meter run on Thursday afternoon.  Sievers steadily moved through the pack and ran a season's best time of 10:51 to snag 7th place with a strong finish down the straightaway.
