The Carlisle girls sent multiple girls in several events to the prestigious Drake Relays April 26-27.  The Wildcats competed in six events, setting school records in four of them.

  • Ainsley Erzen produced a staggering weekend, notching four school records in four performances.  Her weekend started on Friday afternoon with a fourth-place finish in the 800-meter run.  Her time of 2:11.16 is the second fastest ever for an Iowa freshman and took down her own school record of 2:15. She is also now No. 3 in the country for freshmen. She returned that afternoon to run 400 meters.  Despite coming in as the No. 10 seed, she shattered the school record with a second-place finish in 57.13.  That time is the third fastest time ever for an Iowa freshman. On Friday evening she teamed up with Cam Mesecher, Jocelyn Haack and Megan Sievers to set a school record in the 4x400-meter relay in 4:07.02, which placed them 16th.  Erzen returned Saturday afternoon to compete in the 1500 meter run where she finished third overall in a school-record 4:42.78, despite the cold wind and rain.
  • The Sprint Medley Relay team of Natalea Statler, Paige Mercer, Tristine Viers and Jocelyn Haack finished 23rd overall in the school's first ever time competing in the event at the Drake Relays.
  • The 4x100 Meter Relay team of Tristine Viers, Natalea Statler, Paige Mercer and Adelynn Ahartz competed strong despite an injury with one of the runners.  They finished 95th overall.
