Wildcats Third at SE Polk Invite

The Wildcat girls finished third in the eight-team SE Polk Invitational behind 4A No. 4 SE Polk and No. 5 Iowa City West. The 3A No. 11 ranked Wildcats finished ahead of 3A No. 10 Grinnell, despite competing without the state's No. 27 ranked runner, junior Abby Noonan, who is currently out with a non-running related injury.  Freshman Ainsley Erzen, currently ranked No. 2 in class 3A, faced her toughest test of the season, going up against three runners ranked in the top-8 from class 4A.  Once again, she delivered a record-setting performance in a convincing victory. Senior Megan Sievers took out a few highly ranked runners from class 4A to finish sixth overall. Sophomore Ella Andersen continued her incredible sophomore season as she medaled with a 21st place finish in a career-best time.  Jocelyn Haack and Mady Taylor both ran season-best times to finish 30th and 31st overall.  The Wildcats will next compete at the Norwalk Invitational on Monday.
