Sievers and Erzen Qualify For State XC Meet

The Wildcat girls cross country squad closed out the team portion of their season by finishing fifth in the state qualifying meet at Pella.  The Wildcats were led by freshman Ainsley Erzen, who has now won seven consecutive meets to start her career. She ran 18:50, missing the course record by one second, the first course record she has not set this season.  She was followed closely by senior Megan Sievers.  Sievers qualified for her fourth state cross country meet as an individual with a fifth-place finish in 20:01.  Sophomore Ella Andersen came across the line in 28th, senior Jocelyn Haack in 36th, and freshman Mady Taylor in 54th to close out the team scoring.  Erzen and Sievers will compete on Saturday, Oct. 27at the state championship meet in Fort Dodge.
