The Carlisle Wildcat boys' track & field squad traveled to Washington on March 23rd to compete in the annual Steve Roth Relays.
The Cats finished 5th in Class A behind Iowa City (City High), Cedar Rapids Prairie, Iowa City West, and Washington. Carlisle scored 51 points to
outdistance Cedar Rapids Xavier, Mount Pleasant, and Ottumwa. Junior Braedin Zondervan paced the Cats with a runner-up finish in the 400m dash
in a career best time of 50.46 and a third place finish in the 200m dash in a career best 22.87. Both times rank in the CHS All-Time Top 10. Senior
Tyler Deal threw the shot put 44'4 to finish 3rd and also threw the discus 111'1 to finish 8 th . Senior Mark Mast cleared a career best 5'8 in the high
jump to finish 3rd . Senior Alec McCormick ran 51.73 to finish 4 th in the 400m dash and ran 23.40 to also finish 4 th in the 200m dash. The 4x200 meter
relay squad of Mason Lucas, Jack Laughlin, Juni McPhee, and Tate Heidemann ran 1:38.47 to finish 4th . Junior Brody Roth ran 4:49.33 to finish 4th in
the 1600 meter run and also ran 10:07.77 in the 3200 meter run to finish 5 th . Kamden Brown ran 2:11.26 to finish 5 th in the 800 meter run. The 800
meter sprint medley relay squad of Jack Brewer, Charlie Peterson, Heideman, and Blake Buckingham finished 5th . The 4x800 meter relay team of
Josh Lancaster, Ezra DeCleene, Talan Walstrom, and Conner Hansen ran 9:12.87 to finish 6th and round out the scoring for the Cats. Other results
