The Carlisle girls track and field team competed in meets on back-to back afternoons this week. The team finished runner-up at the Van Meter Co-Ed Invitational behind the top-ranked team in Class 2A, Panorama. At DCG, Indianola picked-up a narrow victory over DCG with the Wildcats coming in third. Over the course of the two days, two school records were broken and top-5 marks in Class 3A were achieved in a total of 11 events. Here are some of the performances that highlighted the competitions:

Van Meter

• Ainsley Erzen (FR) won the 800 meter run in a Drake Relays Blue Standard time of 2:15.84.  This also lowered her own school record by nearly 3 seconds.  That time is #2 in Class 3A.      
• Jocelyn Haack (SR) finished 2^nd in the 100 Hurdles in a season's best time of 16.08. 
• Megan Sievers (SR) finished 2^nd in the 3000 meter run with a time of 12:09.     
• Meredith Hoffman (JR) finished 2^nd in the discus with a throw of over 105 feet. 
• Adelynn Ahartz (SR) cleared 5 feet in the high jump for the first time this season to finish 3^rd in the competition.
• The 4x100 Meter Relay team of Tristine Viers (JR), Natalea Statler (JR), Paige Mercer (SR), and Adelynn Ahartz (SR) ran a season's best time of 52.86 to finish 3^rd overall.
• The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Cam Mesecher (SR), Ainsley Erzen (FR), Jocelyn Haack (SR), and Megan Sievers (SR) ran the 2^nd fastest time in school history of 4:08.40 to get the victory.
• The Sprint Medley Relay team of Natalea Statler (JR), Paige Mercer (SR), Tristine Viers (JR), and Ainsley Erzen ran 1:53.03 to win in the 3rd fastest time in school history. 

DCG

• Ainsley Erzen (FR) won the 1500 meter run in a time of 4:56.
• Jocelyn Haack (won the 100 meter hurdles in a season's best time of 16.02. 
• Adelynn Ahartz won the long jump with a season's best leap of 16 feet 10.50 inches.  She also finished as the runner-up in the high jump with a height of 4 feet 10 inches. 
• Meredith Hoffman once again launched a big throw in the discus of over 107 feet to finish as the runner-up. 
• The Sprint Medley Relay team of Natalea Statler (JR), Paige Mercer (SR), Tristine Viers (JR), and Ainsley Erzen ran 1:51.75 to win in the 2nd fastest time in school history. 
• The Distance Medley Relay team of Tristine Viers (JR), Paige Mercer (SR), Megan Sievers (SR), and Ainsley Erzen (FR) set a new school record by nearly 5 seconds with a time of 4:16.24 to get the win.  That time is now #1 in class 3A and #2 in all classes.
