The Carlisle girls cross country team ran at the Heartland Classic in Pella, Iowa on Sept. 19 with a limited lineup. The girls ran in the "Red" Race and placed third in a competitive eight-team field with 114 points. Southeast Polk won the red race with 26 points and the runner-up was fellow RRC competitor ADM with 86 points. Wildcat sophomore Tessa Erzen led the Wildcats and placed 4th in a time of 20:20. Following Erzen was freshman teammate Marie Daggett, who finished 18th in a time of 22:00. Freshman Maya Bergstrom finished 19th in 22:07. Rounding out the top-5 were 32nd-place finisher Laura Downs with a time of 23:29 and Ella Andersen who was 41st in a time of 24:25. Also running on Saturday was Hannah McGraw in 43rd place with a time of 24:37, Bri White in 51st place with a time of 25:23 and Katie Keeney, who finished 72nd in a time of 28:24. The Wildcats will toe the line again this Thursday, September 24th in Indianola at Pickard Park.
